Every morning, I take 2 vitamin D capsules, and I like to tell myself that I can actually feel an improvement in my immune system and general energy levels. However, it’s always nice to be backed up by research. Recently, I saw this review on vitamin D and athletic performance, and thought that it was too nice not to share on the blog:
This study offers interesting new information about how vitamin D status in humans relates to muscular recovery from exercise.
More pre-exercise vitamin D meant less post-exercise muscle weakness and better recovery through the entire recovery process. Less pre-exercise vitamin D meant more weakness and worse recovery.
